frequently asked questions

What Can I Expect?

In layman’s terms, expect an Athlete-Coach Partnership. I am a firm believer in setting goals, being accountable, and consistent sustainable progression. I encourage athletes to take the time to set meaningful and attainable goals, then I hold the athletes to the work required to accomplish those goals. This is a 50/50 relationship, I want to walk alongside you on YOUR athletics journey. I want to encourage you, help you understand the process, and hand you the reigns in your own successes.

What Are The First Steps?

First, click here to let me know a little more about you!

Second, we set up an initial phone call (30-45mins), then go through your training history, and goals, then address any questions or concerns you may have.

After the initial phone call, it will be up to you to decide if partnering with Simple Athletics aligns with your goals and interests.

How Does Remote Coaching Work?

If you decide to partner with Simple Athletics, I will provide an individualized training plan that approaches your goals in the context of your lifestyle, training history, and potential “variables” (time constraints, access to equipment or resources, etc).

I will then provide you with monthly updates on training. Payment is made after training has been provided (Currently accepting Venmo, PayPal, and CashApp).

As a “Simple” Athlete, you will have unlimited communication (9am - 9pm PST) via text and email. If you have something more pressing and would like to set up a phone call or Zoom meeting, that is also an option!

What Does Training Look Like?

“Simple Athletics” is not just a catchy name. The goal has always been to take the stress of overcomplicated training approaches and jargon AWAY from the athlete. Providing training in a digestible and stress-free format.

That being said, it can vary between people. I will provide as much, or as little, as the athlete desires. Need an explanation about every single workout and its purpose? Just ask!

I have used this term before (and will again), but this is your “Journey”. My only goal is to help you along and support you in consistently being the best version of yourself. I can’t decide what that looks like, but I can guide you to where you want to go.

Can My Training Change?

Absolutely. If training is going better than expected and you would like to adjust your goals, just let me know and we can explore potential training plan adjustments. Nothing is set in stone and it is not a burden to make changes to training.

One thing to ALWAYS remember: “The training must fit the athlete”

What If I Get Hurt?

If there is an unforeseen circumstance (ex: can’t run for 2 weeks because of a skiing accident), just let me know and we will “Pause” your training and payment.

If you are injured and have to tone back running/training, In order to address an underlying issue (ex: runner’s knee or post-tibial tendonitis), I will work alongside you to develop an adapted-training program that will get you back to where you want to be. In that situation, we wouldn’t “pause” anything. We would most likely just need to be in closer communication day-to-day and monitor your progress.

What If I Decide I Don’t Need Remote Coaching Anymore?

Full Transparency— This is a possibility. Coaching is the only profession where, if done right, you can work yourself out of a job (if done wrong you can also find yourself without a job).

Personally, I would rather you be honest with yourself and upfront with me in that situation. I understand that everyone is different and their needs can change.

I want all my athletes, past and present, to continue along the journey of life successfully.
